Raydiance and the Applications Engineering team anticipate the need for an experienced laser Applications Engineer Contractor for project work. The primary responsibilities include:
Essential Responsibilities
- Design, specification, construction, debugging, performance analysis and documentation of optical and opto-mechanical systems for internally or externally defined ultrafast laser applications development projects
- Execution of ultrafast laser applications experiments, including sample material processing, analysis, and presentation and reporting of results
- Working directly with customers to understand their engineering challenges and educating customers in the implementation of the Raydiance ultrafast laser platform product for their application needs
Qualifications

Preferred skills/knowledge include one or more of the following: electronic test and measurement equipment, optical characterization methods, knowledge of fundamentals of lasers, working knowledge of application programming interface languages, non-linear optics, microscopy, imaging techniques, and physics of laser or light interaction with materials.
- BS or higher degree in engineering, physics or related technical field
- 5+ years experience with laser applications
- Hands-on experience with optics, optical systems and laser applications
- Flexibility to work independently and execute on specific optical design projects on an as-needed basis
US Citizenship or Permanent Resident required due to government contracts.
