
The Raydiance R-Drill solution for Gas Direct Injectors (GDi) is a bundled micro drilling tool set that is tailored to the exacting demands automotive parts manufacturers. This solution is helping parts makers around the world meet tighter air quality regulations by both reducing the energy and resources needed in the manufacturing process, and creating injectors that direct fuel so precisely that auto emissions are cut by some 30 percent.
The R-Drill GDi solution combines the Raydiance femtosecond laser with specialty 3-D beam scanning components along with Raydiance’s customized application software that machines to ultra-precise specifications. For fuel injector applications, the R-Drill can be programmed to remove any amount of material, control hole taper (positive, negative, zero), shape (round, elliptical) and surface quality.
